One of the largest transport companies in NRW is receive 49 new ticket vending machines. The Bochum-Gelsenkirchener Straßenbahnen AG (BOGESTRA) is thus replacing some of its older machines so as to be able to offer its passengers a much more modern vending machine. Dortmund-based ICA TRAFFIC was recently commissioned to deliver these stationary ticket machines.
The state-of-the-art machines of the latest generation, DUALIS 2000S, accept both coins and banknotes and also support cashless payment. In addition, they enable both contact and contactless payment such as, for example, Paywave, Paypass and GiroGo.
For the benefit of passengers, the ticket machines also return banknotes as change. One particular feature of the ticket vending machines of this generation is their low life cycle costs. Apart from these technical features, the ICA ticket machines are barrier-free.
All ticket machines are already equipped for future extensions with new functions. These include electronic ticketing, on the one hand, and extended communication options, on the other.
