Dortmund – ICA Traffic GmbH has successfully won the EU-wide tender procedure of Nahverkehr Schwerin GmbH (NVS) for the delivery and installation of a comprehensive boarding and control system (EKS). Our implementation is part of a funding programme and includes equipping the Schwerin bus fleet with the latest boarding control technology, which can also be expanded into an ID and account-based ticketing system in the future.
With this technology, we are making local transport more convenient and efficient.
The project includes the delivery and installation of a boarding and control system for a total of 44 NVS buses. A key component of the new system is 44 Traveller CLX with 2D barcode imagers and Feig cVend Plug payment terminals as well as 44 driver displays. The order also includes the installation of our modular sales background system and a comprehensive maintenance contract. The introduction of this modern system enables efficient and secure access control and fast ticket processing, which relieves both passengers and drivers while improving passenger flow.
The Traveller CLX meets the requirements of e-ticketing, controlled passenger boarding, check-in & check-out and ID/account-based ticketing.
In the future, the boarding and control system should also be usable for ID-based ticketing in order to make local transport in Schwerin even more customer-friendly and digital. Thanks to the flexibility of our system, this extension can also be implemented.
With the new EKS system, Nahverkehr Schwerin GmbH is relying on a future-proof solution that both optimises the current operation of the bus fleet and provides a basis for future digital ticketing models.
Winning this tender reinforces our goal of making local public transport more digital and user-friendly.
