The challenge:
To trial ID-based ticketing on Citybus Kleve’s route 49 within an established transport network structure, running in parallel with the existing sales infrastructure, and with a clear focus on reducing sales costs.
The solution:
Exclusively ID-based sales and the introduction of a dedicated fare product for Citybus Kleve aimed at occasional passengers. The validator is installed directly with the driver to actively assist passengers. A customer portal ensures additional transparency.
The result:
It took just around four weeks from the order being placed to the go-live in February 2026 – on time, smoothly and without a significant IT burden.
