The challenge:
infra fürth gmbh wanted to modernise ticket sales on buses, ease the workload on drivers and, at the same time, reduce the effort involved in handling cash, whilst meeting growing demands for a flexible and future-proof ticketing system. Improving customer satisfaction was also a key consideration.
The solution:
Following a Europe-wide tender process, ICA was successfully awarded the contract and will be responsible for the supply and integration of 100 mobile, cashless ticket machines (Traveller CLS), including a modular back-office system and a maintenance contract. The solution enables modern, cashless payment and supports ticket validation in accordance with the VDV-KA standard. Thanks to the modular system architecture and the flexible, customisable, divisible user interface (GUI), additional applications such as passenger information can be easily integrated. Furthermore, the system is already designed for future expansions such as ID-based ticketing or the integration of etiCORE.
The result:
The introduction of this system creates a child-friendly, convenient, efficient and future-proof ticketing system that offers passengers fast, cashless ticket purchases, reduces the workload on drivers and sustainably digitises public transport in Fürth.
