[CASE STUDY]

ID-based ticketing on the Priwall ferry in Travemünde

The challenge:

The Priwall ferry service connects the mainland with the Priwall peninsula at Lübeck-Travemünde. At this busy Priwall ferry terminal, the ID-based ticketing system is being integrated alongside the existing ticketing infrastructure – just in time for the start of the peak season and under challenging weather conditions right by the water’s edge.

The solution:

Focus on simple, intuitive use for occasional passengers. A clearly defined selection of the most frequently used fares, installation directly at the jetties in a clearly visible position, and a validator with the driver for active passenger assistance. A customer portal completes the solution.

The result:

With sufficient lead time before the peak season. Simple, smart ticketing for occasional passengers with an expected high level of user acceptance – moving away from traditional ticket machines towards an ID-based ticketing system.
