The challenge:
ÜSTRA’s existing ticket machines, which dated from 2007, no longer met today’s requirements for user-friendliness, digitalisation and flexible on-the-spot ticket purchases. Similarly, the existing back-end system was no longer state-of-the-art.
The solution:
ICA supplied and installed a total of 294 modern ticket machines at all tram stops and underground stations, as well as the associated cloud-based sales system, tailored to customer needs. Our cost-saving hosting and professional service as part of a long-term maintenance contract round off the complete package. The ticket machines were supplied in various configurations defined by the customer. The new machines offer innovative features such as real-time connection checks, automatic ticket suggestions, accessible operation and a wide range of cashless and cash-based payment options.
The result:
The successful roll-out has significantly simplified and modernised the ticket-purchasing process for passengers. The new machines considerably improve customer service. Together with ÜSTRA, we are setting a new standard for innovation in the ticketing market.
